Nick Ecos, MBA, President and CEO since January, 2015 is an accomplished biotechnology executive with over 25 years of experience in leadership roles involving turnaround and high growth businesses, including his previous role as Vice President and General Manager, Licensing and Commercial Supply at Thermo Fisher Scientific (formerly Life Technologies), and previously as General Manager of several operating units, including the Dynal bead-based separations business in Oslo, Norway. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Pankaj Singhal, Ph.D., Senior Vice President, Strategy Development & Operations who joined Biomatrica in 2012, has over 15 years experience developing, producing, and commercializing products in the diagnostics industry. As COO of Osmetech Molecular Diagnostics (later GenMark Diagnostics) he led the launching of FDA cleared products, taking the company public, and leading post-acquisition integration. He earned his Ph.D in Chemistry from the University of California - Riverside and is a Six Sigma Black Belt.
Tony Broad, MBA, joined Biomatrica as Chief Financial Officer in August, 2016. He is a strategic and hands-on financial executive with over 25 years of experience with life science companies, including Novex, Accumetrics and Trilink Biotechnologies. He has raised over $40 million in equity and debt financings and negotiated credit lines up to $60 million. He earned his MBA from The University of Chicago.
Steven Schaefers, MBA, joined Biomatrica in May, 2016 as Senior Director, Operations, with responsibility for production, technology transfer, and strategic sourcing. Steve brings 15 plus years’ experience with companies producing instruments, reagents, and kits within cGMP, FDA and ISO-13485 environments for companies that include Perkin Elmer, GenMark Diagnostics, Thermo Fisher, and Trinity Biotech. Steve holds a Master’s in Business Administration, a Bachelor’s in Business Management, and is a Six Sigma Black Belt. He serves on the board of ALine, Inc.
